As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, a lot of people that regularly go into an office are now being asked to work from home. Transforming your home into an office may not be as easy as you think, especially for those that don't have a lot of experience working in a remote environment.
Here are a few things that you can do to help yourself stay productive:
Do your normal morning routine & get out of those pajamas. You never know when you will be asked to video conference.
Set a schedule and stick to it. Log off at the end of your work day.
Don’t work from your bed. Try to find a space that will help you separate your work life vs. your home life.
listen to music or put on some type of background noise.
Take frequent breaks to avoid burnout.
Regularly check-in with team members and use those away messages on your chat.
Take that lunch break. Don’t spend your entire day running to the kitchen for snacks.
Mute yourself during conference calls and ask others in your household to do their best to not barge in during your calls.
Don’t become glued to a desk. Get out of that chair and mix in some exercise.
Socialize with friends at the end of the work day. Even if that means a FaceTime happy hour.
